This horseback riding route takes us closer to the snow peaks of one of the most attractive gorges of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The Pumahuanca Valley, for its beauty, was selected as the private garden of the Inca King Pachacutec.

What does this excursion include?
We pick you up from your lodging in Urubamba and take you to our facilities on the Unka Ranch, situated only 15 minutes from Urubamba by car.

Our horses wait just a few meters away and after a few short instructions on riding we set off.

We journey along a path that goes along a brook of crystal clear water flowing down from the snow of Pumahuanca. This area is always green and is an ecosystem favorable to an abundance of birds, forests, and native flowers. Both the landscape and contact with the community of Pachaq will make your horseback ride an amazing adventure.

We will have a box lunch at a selected picnic place along the route.

Before we arrive at the highest point we will find a small archeological complex, the Incan Racaqniyoc, which used to house former Incan settlers.

Later, we return by riding on the same path from where we came. At the end of the trail we will be met by the transportation that will take you back to your lodging.

It is recommended that this journey begin as early in the day as possible.
